The LOST Score - "The Man Behind the Curtain"

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I was particularly fond of this episode as it produced new themes. Some of them lasted throughout subsequent seasons.

It was also a great tie in to "Tricia Tanaka is Dead".

Comparisons to the "Expose" episode and Bernard Hermann compositions are examined. .

It seems upon re listening I didn't like the Nikki/Paulo story.

The LOST Score - Mid Week "Retrospective"

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I woke up the morning I made this show at around 3.00am and basically just reminisced about the pilot. If I remember rightly the motivation was that the coming episode ("Expose") was rumored to be a "Pilot Flashback".

This was my take on what we may expect.

The LOST Score - "D.O.C." Mid Week Show

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I had a couple of weeks break from the show, and then ended up doing a Mid Week show that followed the episode "D.O.C.". Music aside, this was one of my least favorite episodes of Season 3.

Mainly as the Jin and Sun stories usually bored me to death.

Somehow I found things of interest to talk about.

The LOST Score - "Par Avion", "Expose" - Mid Week Show

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

By now the show was getting some traction on iTunes so it was decided a "Mid Week" show might add to the content. This was the first of such shows. I got to play around with some Brian Eno/Nikki Paulo mashups, and had a lot of positive feedback from this episode.

.The Mid Week shows generally played about 2 days before an episode aired.

Good with headphones and feet up ;)

The LOST Score - Enter 77

The original "Enter 77" file cannot be found so I dug out a version with a short intro. I distinctly remember this episode of LOST annoying the hell out of me. I had begun to figure out that the show was never going to answer many of the questions put forward. The John Locke character began to behave obstructively which I also found disappointing.

. I did manage to get a bit of Didgeridoo in on the playlist though.

Enjoy....

The LOST Score - Tricia Tanaka is Dead

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

One of my favorite episodes as far as fan response. Everyone "appeared" to get a kick out of this one. It took an age to edit, but I turned it around in about a 10 hour period. We only had approximately a day to turn a show around from the time LOST aired and the time we threw a podcast up.

. The original file can't be found so I've uploaded one that has a short intro from a previous feed.

It has a loud start :).

The LOST Score - What We've Learned So Far

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I was as sick as a dog when I recorded this "What We've Learned So Far" Episode.

I had the worst cold. I'd been in bed for about 3 days straight, and though I was supposed to be reviewing "The Cost of Living" I ended up doing a recap of the last 5 episodes.

It was still fun to do, if I remember rightly.

The LOST Score - Every Man for Himself

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

The "Everyman for Himself" Episode, as presented originally on the "Dharmalars" feed.

At the time, this was a favorite episode of mine. And not just musically. Dive in and reminisce about a Sawyer centric flashback, whilst getting carried away by the strings...

A great episode.

The LOST Score - The Glass Ballerina

The "Glass Ballerina" Episode, as presented originally on the "Dharmalars" feed.

Please note: It's fairly obvious that I didn't think much of this episode musically. It did give us the chance to talk about "Ostinati", and how that technique is used so often to denote periods of time and tension.

I do remember enjoying editing this episode.

The LOST Score - A Tale of Two Cities

The 2nd Episode of "The LOST Score", as presented originally on the "Dharmalars" podcast sometime in October 2006.

Please note: The show concept was still in it's infancy, so once again the audio could be better. But "A Tale of Two Cities" introduced us to new musical themes that became integral to the show. Similarities to earlier Jerry Goldsmith compositions, as well as Bernard Hermann references were recognized and discussed in depth.

Enjoy...

The LOST Score Repost - Debut and Intro

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Here it is...the original debut of "The LOST Score", as presented originally on the "Dharmalars" feed. This episode debuted October 10th, 2006.

Please note: The Audio is very poor. The first few episodes were done on the super cheap. It wasn't long though till I bought new equipment and the show took off. That said, I've heard worse.

Enjoy the 2 minutes that started it all :)
